The New Mexico State Fair, World Qualifying Show, has been “put to bed”.  This show, in conjunction with the New Mexico State Fair, is the first two day show, two separately judged, ever held at any state fair.  We had over 160 entries in our open classes for the two days. This could not be done without all of our longhorn friends joining us and we want to thank all of you for traveling with your wonderful longhorn cattle.  We are a little out of the way and the price of fuel is way over the top; but we certainly appreciate that you have taken the time and the expense of coming to our shows.  Calvin Koontz, our Fair Chairman, did a wonderful job.  Kristi Wilson, our Sec/Treasurer keeps things in order and all of the others that volunteered, their help was very much appreciated.

The New Mexico Club’s next project will be at the New Mexico Cattlemen’s Convention in Albuquerque, December 1st and 2nd.  The longhorns aren’t invited, but there will be several club members at a table handing out literature and information about our great cattle.  Stop past and visit with us if you are in the area.  Please mark your calendar for our two day Truth or Consequence Show over President’s Day weekend in February, 2007.
